Some frequent (or not so) questions

How do I decide how much to pay, and does how much I pay affect the treatment I get?
You should decide how much to pay based on what you feel you can pay.
The idea of the sliding scale is to make it possible for you to come and have treatment often enough that you really feel better. I want to make a decent living but I'm not in this for the money.

Can I address more than one health issue at a time with Shiatsu?
Absolutely I will almost insist on it , though I don't know exactly how Shiatsu works; I do know that it often seems to act like a re-set button for the body. Shiatsu almost always has the effect of reducing stress and promoting better sleep and more energy.
Do you treat pregnant women?
Yes I have some experience of treating pregnant women, and have received specific training.
Do you treat children?
Yes I am happy to treat children and have often done so. I will insist that the parent remains in the room during treatment (you can sit and read etc)

Will it hurt?

The short answer is, well it might. I will probable find some areas where you will experience some  discomfort, but the experience is discomfort that feels good and will always leave you feeling better. If you wish to avoid any discomfort I can offer a session were you don't have any. It will still be effective but may take more sessions before you feel much better.

Shiatsu does not involve sudden or percussive movements, there won't be any snapping or cracking.

What should I wear?

I will probable be moving your arms and legs around quite a bit, so its a really good idea to wear loose clothing. Joggers or leggings are good. Please do wear socks, clean is good if possible.
Do I have to believe in Shiatsu for it to work?
Not at all – horses get really good results from Shiatsu just like people.
I really like working with sceptics. You just need to have enough of an open mind to want to find out if Shiatsu will work for you, and you will only know that for sure by experience. I suggest you try it and see what you think.
Someone I know is insisting that I try Shiatsu, but I'm not sure.
I don't recommend that anyone try Shiatsu based on how much someone else wants them to do it. Most people who try Shiatsu like it and find it relaxing, but not everyone. It just isn't for everyone. Only you can decide if this is for you.
Someone I know 'really needs' Shiatsu, but doesn't want to try it!  I'm going insist that they have it anyway! Do you think that's a great idea?
No.
Can I combine Shiatsu with massage/chiropractic/osteopathic treatment/medication /exercise/etc?
You can combine Shiatsu with almost anything; Nothing is going to make it less effective, and it doesn't interfere with anything else.
Can I have a few beers before my treatment?
This is not a good idea. As we noted above, you can combine Shiatsu  with almost anything, but I would really prefer that you not arrive for your treatment impaired by alcohol or recreational drugs.
